Helping Shepherds Of Every Color Rescue provides needed medical care, training and rehabilitation to needy GSDs until they are ready for adoption. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on shots and heartworm free by the time they are re-homed. References and a home visit from one of our volunteers are required of all applicants.

​Thank you for taking the time to complete our adoption application. Your answers will permit us to more effectively match your needs with a dog in our program. This form works best when completed on a desktop computer or laptop instead of a "smart" phone or other handheld device. If you would prefer that we send you this questionnaire via email, please let us know.

 

DIRECTIONS:

Please complete the application and submit. Once we receive your complete application, one of our volunteers will contact you with any questions. We will contact your references so we recommend that you let them know that someone from our organization will be contacting them for a reference. Please let your veterinary clinic know we will call and give them permission to speak with us. Helping Shepherds of Every Color Rescue is an all volunteer organizaiton. None of us are paid and most of us work fulltime jobs in addition to caring for the foster dogs. We will do our best to respond to emails and applications in a timely manner. If you change your mind or adopt from elsewhere please let us know.
 

Requirements:

We do not adopt our dogs to owners that do not have their current pets up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm prevention, and spayed/neutered. We will verify this information. There may be further requirements depending on the needs of the dog requested. We require a two year vet history unless you have not owned a pet in ten years. We reserve the right to deny an application for any reason.
